Day One Delivers Cheap Clicks. We Are Blind On Leads.

Internal weekly for Si. Shadow AI Checklist campaign went live 12 Sep after the phone-verify block (#3858013) cleared. This is day one of live delivery. Ranked on the money event (checklist opt-ins), which is currently untracked.

Creative strong, plumbing broken

The one-line answer

Creative and delivery are excellent, but the account is running blind: it is a Traffic objective with only a PageView pixel, so not one checklist opt-in is measured. Day one sent 438 people to the LP at $0.13 a visit on a 4.33% CTR and $4.85 CPM. Numbers most accounts would kill for. But we cannot rank anything by the money event because the money event does not fire. The Lead pixel event is missing, the objective optimises for clicks not opt-ins, and the form asks for a phone number on a cold free lead magnet. Fix the tracking before you spend another dollar scaling.

Which creatives are carrying it

Three of eight statics were live on day one. V1 Board angle took 85% of spend and most of the traffic. V6 Personal accountability had the best CTR in the account (6.49%) on tiny spend, that is the one to open up. V4 Auditor pressure is a dud: 0.81% CTR, 2 LP views from 15 clicks.

The funnel drop-off

Every step is healthy up to the LP. The break is at the opt-in: 438 LP views and 0 recorded opt-ins, because there is no Lead event. We literally cannot see the conversion, so the true opt-in rate is unknown, not zero.

The funnel, walked step by step

Walked a live ad through to the LP and read the source. Page is live (200, DNS ok), pixel base code present. GHL / LeadConnector page. The plumbing gap is specific and fixable.

NO LEAD EVENT
Free
1LP: "$670K in AI risk you can't see." ISO 42001 / EU AI Act checklist, Aftab 20+ yrs risk credibility, clear ICP disqualifier ("not for large enterprises with compliance teams").
2CTA "Download the checklist now" opens a GHL form: first name, email, phone.
3Submit delivers the checklist as a file download (GHL downloadFile action).
Leak 1 (critical): pixel 2080054156216351 fires only PageView. No Lead or CompleteRegistration on submit, and no custom conversion exists. Meta gets zero opt-in signal. Leak 2: objective is Traffic, so Meta buys clicks not opt-ins. Leak 3: phone field on a cold free checklist suppresses form completion.
Ruled out: the link is not dead (200, DNS ok), the LP loads fast, and the base pixel is installed. So the fix is additive (map a Lead event onto the existing pixel + CAPI), not a rebuild.

Campaign scorecard

One campaign (Traffic), eight statics, three live. Money-event column is blank by necessity: opt-ins are untracked. Judged on interest and cost, V1 and V6 are clear keepers, V4 is dead, five are still off.

No wasted spend on dead links this cycle. The real risk: 100% of the $59 bought untracked traffic. Every dollar past today is unmeasurable until the Lead event is live. Do not scale first.

What I should change this week

Concrete account moves, in order. Do the plumbing before the budget.

  • TRACKInstall the Lead event. In GHL, add a workflow trigger on the checklist form submit that fires the Meta pixel Lead event (and CAPI, using pixel 2080054156216351). Or map it to a custom conversion. Confirm it registers in Events Manager Test Events before trusting it.
  • FORMMake phone optional or remove it. Name + email only for a free checklist. Ask for phone on a later ascension step, not the cold opt-in.
  • OBJECTIVERebuild as a Leads / Website conversions campaign once the Lead event has data, optimising to the opt-in. Keep the current Traffic campaign running only until the conversion campaign exits learning, then pause it.
  • CREATIVETurn on V2, V3, V5, V7, V8. Only 3 of 8 statics are live. Widen the test now while CPMs are cheap ($4.85).
  • PRUNEPause V4 Auditor pressure (0.81% CTR, 2 LP views). Let V1 and V6 keep delivery. V6 has the account-best 6.49% CTR on only $8, give it headroom.
  • BUDGETHold at $20/day. Do not scale on day-one traffic data with no conversion signal. Once cost per opt-in is visible and stable for 3 to 5 days, step budget up 20 to 30% at a time.
  • EVENTS MGRConfirm the 3 pixel-health numbers (CAPI connected, EMQ score, Lead dedup) as part of the tracking fix. See footer.

Top 5 fixes, ranked by money impact

Install the Lead event on form submit (pixel + CAPI)

Why it is #1: the money event for this offer is a checklist opt-in, and right now it does not fire. The pixel sends only PageView, so 438 LP views produced 0 measurable leads and there is no custom conversion to optimise toward. Nothing else in the account can be judged or scaled until this exists. Map a Lead event onto the existing pixel and CAPI on the GHL submit, then verify in Events Manager Test Events.

Effort LowImpact HighestUnlocks the money metric

Move off Traffic to a Leads / conversions objective

The campaign is OUTCOME_TRAFFIC, so Meta is buying the cheapest clicks, not the people who opt in. Cheap clicks with no opt-in signal is exactly how you get 438 visits and no idea of quality. Once the Lead event has fired enough, rebuild as a Leads or Website conversions campaign optimising to the opt-in so the algorithm starts finding downloaders, not scrollers.

Effort LowImpact HighImproves cost per lead

Strip the phone field from the opt-in form

A phone number on a cold, free lead magnet is a known opt-in killer. It adds a field and a trust ask before any value is delivered. Name and email is enough to send a checklist. This lifts the completion rate directly, which means more leads for the same $59, and phone can be collected on the follow-up ascension step instead.

Effort LowImpact Medium to HighLifts opt-in rate

Activate the five paused statics

Only 3 of 8 angles are live, so the test is starved. With CPMs at $4.85 and a 4.33% account CTR, now is the cheap window to get V2, V3, V5, V7 and V8 into the auction and find the next V6. More proven angles means more scalable winners once tracking is on.

Kill V4 and concentrate spend on V1 and V6

V4 Auditor pressure ran a 0.81% CTR (the others are 4.8% and 6.5%) and delivered 2 LP views from 15 clicks. It is dragging the ad set average. Pause it. V1 Board is the volume workhorse and V6 Personal accountability has the best CTR in the account on only $8 of spend, so give V6 room to prove it can scale.
